Summer Youth On-Camera Production Class Premieres “The Giant Wave”

Casa 0101’s On-Camera Production returned with The Giant Wave.

Tuesday, November 25th, 2022. After a successful short film in 2021, this year’s On-Camera Production class returned with The Giant Wave. This 10-week class focused on teaching students what it takes to become a working actor in the entertainment industry, from learning how to prepare for an audition to learning lines and adjusting to last minute script changes. Parents were also given the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of being a parent of a child actor. This film features a cast of 25 students, ranging from ages 7-17. “I am really excited to be in this production. It’s a real big honor.” Jayde Dominguez, 13.

Written by Casa 0101’s artistic director, Josefina López, The Giant Wave tells the story of a group of kids who must figure out a way to survive the tsunami that threatens to hit the island they are trapped on.

The Giant Wave was also accepted to the LA Skins Festival and premiered at the world famous TCL Chinese Theater on November 19th, 2022.

This production was made possible with funds from the Herb Alpert Foundation, Department of Cultural Affairs, the California Arts Council and donations from supporters like you!
